Salem woman dies after head on crash in Kenosha County

VILLAGE OF BRISTOL -- One person died and two were injured after a head on crash in the Village of Bristol Wednesday evening.

The wreck happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 20900 block of County Highway C/Wilmot Road.

According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, the driver of a car going west lost control at a curve, went onto the shoulder, over corrected back onto the road and drove into the path of a van driving east.

The driver of the car -- a 38-year-old woman from Salem -- was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

A 23-month old child in the car was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

The driver of the van that was hit -- a 32-year-old man from Antioch, Ill. -- was taken to the hospital with "significant injuries." 

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
