Racine abuse victim "Rocky" will be available for adoption on Friday from the Wisconsin Humane Society Racine Campus.
The 10-month-old puppy arrived at the Humane Society in early June after being beaten to the point of disfigurement by his owner Terrence Howard.
Howard was reported to have beaten Rocky with a pipe, whip and even his fists. He has since been charged with felony mistreatment of animals.
The Humane Society performed X-rays on Rocky and had behavior experts work with him on his "manners."
"Despite all he's been through, Rocky is such a happy, bouncy guy," said the Humane Society. "He loves tossing around his plush toys and is very treat motivated."
Even so, the Humane Society says Rocky would be best suited for a home without small children under 8-years-old as his play style is still a little bit rough.
