MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a road rage shooting that sent a 21-year-old driver to the hospital.

It happened on the city’s south side --  near 8th Street and Burnham.

Police say when the victim parked his car on 8th Street, the suspect drove past and fired multiple gunshots at the victim.

“It was at least 10 shots, like boom boom boom boom,” said neighbor Sarah Reimer.  “We literally slid off the couch. I was sitting on the chair and my daughter on the couch and we slid off and laid on the ground."

One bullet flew into a nearby parked car.  A mother of four -- who didn't want to give her name -- said she heard the rapid gunfire and immediately looked for her kids.

“My kids. That’s why I was scared. Where are they? You hear on the news stray bullets come through the living room hitting people. My kids were both in the living room,  but then they came running,” she said.

Her kids were not hurt, but police say the 21-year-old driver who was involved in the road rage incident was shot.

He was rushed to the hospital and is expected to be fine.

Milwaukee police are still looking for the angry driver who fired the shots.
