MILWAUKEE — After a record-setting July, ridership for The Hop dipped in August.
The streetcar totaled more than 80,000 rides in August, making it the second-busiest month of 2019, but the total was about 23,000 fewer than July.
It is important to remember, though, that July received a boost from big events including Summerfest and Bastille Days.
The Hop averaged 2,584 riders each day in August. In July, the daily average was 3,343.
The streetcar had about 48,000 riders in January, 45,000 in February and 50,000 in March.
