Leah Vukmir is a Republican member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing the 5th district.
Prior to her political career, Vukmir received a nursing degree from Marquette University. She went on to get her masters from UW-Madison. She is firmly against the use of medical marijuana, saying there is no need for it.

Political Background: Vukmir was first elected into the Wisconsin legislature in 2002, succeeding Scott Walker. In 2010, she defeated State Senator Jim Sullivan for the 5th district seat. In 2014, she defeated Wendy Friedrich in the Wisconsin 5th Senate district election. She is the assistant majority leader for the Wisconsin State Senate and is currently in her second term.
