MILWAUKEE — Mayor Tom Barrett wants to extend the streetcar down Wisconsin Avenue before the 2020 Democratic National Convention, according to our partners at the Milwaukee Business Journal.
Barrett also is planning for the long term, with expansions into the Third Ward and Bronzeville neighborhoods, according to the MBJ.
A news conference is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon about an "exciting streetcar announcement," according to city officials.
Besides Barrett, Common Council Members, business leaders and community leaders are expected to attend.
