Racine Zoo offers something for everyone with unique winter events

RACINE — Winter weather has hit southeastern Wisconsin, but the Racine Zoo has reasons to get out and enjoy more than just animals from around the globe.

Chinese Lantern Festival: Now - Feb. 9th

Due to the massive response from the community, the Chinese Lantern Festival has been extended. Executive Director Beth Heidorn told TODAY'S TMJ4 that the festival usually ends in January; however, this year the response from the community was so great the zoo is giving you more opportunities to visit.

The Chinese Lantern Festival runs on weekends only (Friday - Sunday) 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. until Feb. 9th, 2020. It is $5 per person, however, kiddos under 2 are free. You are able to take a stroll around the Racine Zoo and surround yourself with the wonderful creations, food and drink options are also available. Ticket information can be found here.

Winter Picnic in a Snow

Globe: Feb. 1st, 2020 - March 1st, 2020

The Racine Zoo is giving you an unique opportunity to be outside, while staying cozy in one of their "igloos" where you can enjoy date night, or a friends night out (up to 8 people). Multiple packages are available ranging from $150 - $325. Space is rented up to 90 minutes, where you can enjoy a variety of entrees. Your night is sure to be unforgettable. Animal Amore: Saturday, Feb. 8th, 2020

As you plan your Valentine's Day for your loved one, consider a romantic evening out at the Zoo. It's an opportunity that is sure to sweep your special someone off their feet. Enjoy champagne, an open bar, appetizers, raffles and a catered dinner and learn how wild animals show their love and how it may be similar or not to humans.

Couples pricing is $100, and the price for one Adult is $55. This event is for those 21-years and older. Click here for ticket information.
