$25,000 reward offered for information leading to arrest, conviction in Racine officer's death

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now offering a $20,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible in Officer John Hetland's death.

In addition to the FBI reward, the Andis Corporation of Racine is offering an additional $5,000 reward.

Officer John Hetland was killed while intervening in an armed robbery at Teezers Tavern.

He was off-duty at the time.

The suspect shot Hetland, and then fled the scene.

Hetland served the Racine Police Department for 24 years.
