MOUNT PLEASANT — A Racine man was arrested after being involved in an eight-person fight late Thursday at Walmart, 3049 S. Oakes Road, Mount Pleasant Police said.

Zachary Holtz, 18, reportedly walked past a group of individuals and started to direct racial epithets at the group, police said. An argument ensued, and the suspect reportedly attempted to punch a female from the group. A male from the group then allegedly battered Holtz.

Holtz was attempting to leave when officers arrived at 11:59 p.m. Holtz removed his shoes and attempted to flee the scene.

Officers tased Holtz when he resisted arrest, according to a news release. Holtz was treated by South Shore Rescue and transported to Racine County Jail.

Holtz was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Other suspects involved in the fight reportedly left the scene prior to the police’s arrival.
