Racine man Climmie Gaston Sr. is charged with attempted homicide after stabbing another man who was attempting to take his children to the local Fourth of July parade.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim and a friend were fixing their car so they could head to the parade with the kids. Gaston and a woman were yelling inside a nearby apartment, so the victim's friend called into the building for the two to stop yelling.
Gaston and the woman quickly came out of the apartment, and pushing and shoving ensued between the four of them.
After pushing Gaston away, the victim said, "let's stop, so I can fix my car," but Gaston lunged at the victim. He then reportedly stabbed the victim with a box cutter and walked back into the apartment. The victim was taken to the hospital.
He is charged with first-degree attempted homicide, along with attempted aggravated battery.
