PORT WASHINGTON -- Three men are safe after their boat began to sink in Lake Michigan Sunday morning.
The men were on a 17-foot boat and were more than two miles off the shore of Port Washington when their vessel began to sink.
When rescue crews arrived, all three were in the water and none of them had a life jacket on. Lake Michigan water is still dangerously cold.
Crews were able to pull all of them into their boat and were quickly rushed back to shore for medical evaluation.
It's believed the wind and high waves played a role in the accident.
