An activist group in Milwaukee claims some people are being threatened legally for voicing an opposing view on healthcare. PolitiFact Wisconsin puts that claim to the Truth-O-Meter.

Citizen Action of Wisconsin recently posted a letter from Senator Ron Johnson's office accusing the Republican of cracking down on free speech.
?
"Citizen Action says people who are involved in dissent activity, protests if you will, get cease and desist letters from Ron Johnson's office," said Tom Kertscher, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Senator Johnson and other Wisconsin lawmakers have been flooded with calls and letters from people and groups hoping to promote and preserve Obamacare.

The 72-year-old retired Milwaukee man who got the cease and desist letter says he was persistent but polite.
?
"The man who received the letter tells the Journal Sentinel that he has called many, many times - as much as 83 times one day - trying to get through the office and he would get voicemail," said Kertscher.

Johnson's office tells PolitiFact it has sent four or five cease-and-desist letters since 2011. This was the first since the November 2016 election. There's no evidence to suggest that everyone who dissents will get a letter.
?
"That cease and desist letter was based on his one-on-one interactions with Johnson's staff that they considered to be threatening or harassing," said Kertscher.

PolitiFact Wisconsin rated the Citizen Action claim False.
