An armed carjacking at Bayshore Town Center in broad daylight has shoppers stunned as police search for the suspect.

"It scares me because I've been coming a lot and I never heard anything like that out here," said Edy Sirowina.

"I feel horrible, that's just terrible," said Betty Burns.

It's hard for shoppers to fathom someone being held at gunpoint at the busy shopping center.

"That's really unexpected.  I wouldn't think that anybody would be that bold," said Jake Gascoigne.

Glendale Police said a man in his 20's drove off in a stolen suburban outside Five Guys around 11:30am Friday.

"It just seems like people are getting more and more bold, so it's getting less surprising unfortunately that people would do it in broad daylight, and especially where people probably are not expecting it, which is probably why they feel like it's okay to do it here," said Vanette Gascoigne.

Police chased the suspect and found the suburban about five miles away in Milwaukee near North Richards Street and West Chambers.  The whole situation has shoppers on edge.

"I'll pay more attention... it's really scary," said Burns.

The carjacking leaves some wondering if there's anything else they can do to protect themselves.

"I feel like we try and be as aware of our surroundings as possible right now, so I don't know in that kind of an instance how much more what else can you do, said Vanetta Gascoigne.

Police are still looking for the suspect.  They haven't released any information about the victim's condition.
