BROOKFIELD – Police in Brookfield are reminding residents to lock their cars and homes  after a string of thefts in the area.

The City of Brookfield Police said they have received six reports of stolen cars in the last week.

Investigators tell TODAY’S TMJ4 the thieves are taking garage door openers from unlocked cars in the driveway – then going in homes and stealing cars and other items.

Police are asking citizens to lock all vehicles, lock their garages, leave outside lights on, and notify police immediately to any suspicious activity.
