A man was arrested Thursday night after police said he wouldn't let children out of the residence.
Cudahy police said the incident happened in the area in the 5500 block of South O'Brien Avenue. Officers were called to the scene for a domestic disturbance.
The police department said when officers arrived on the scene, they heard yelling and a woman was able to exit the residence. Police said there was a 46-year-old man in the home who was not letting three children leave the residence, threatening to use them as a shield.
The man let the children leave the home after negotiation with police and eventually surrendered without injury.
The case remains under investigation, police say.
