VILLAGE OF CALEDONIA -- 14 cats were recently found dead at a foreclosed property in Caledonia, according to police.
The cats were found inside a dog crate on the property, located in the 5500 block of Six Mile Road. Police say a staff member from a restoration company found the crate.
It appears as if the cats had been left outside during last week's snowstorm.
Police say a 57-year-old man who had been evicted from the property and had prior issues with police is responsible for the crime, per a report in the Racine Journal Times.
According to that report, the man is expected to be charged either Tuesday or Wednesday.
