PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. -- Pleasant Prairie Police took a 59-year-old man into custody following a three hour standoff Monday night.

Police responded to the 8500 block of 48th Avenue after reports of someone firing a weapon multiple times and then going back into their house.

Kenosha County Tactical Response Team also responded to the scene with tactical personnel and negotiators.

Police say as the Tactical Response team approached the house, an additional shot was fired within the home. The suspect then came outside and was met with verbal commands by police that he did not follow. Officers struck the man with a 'less lethal impact round' and took the man into custody.

The suspect was treated at Froedert South Medical Center and is currently being held at Kenosha County Jail.

Pleasant Prairie police told residents near the scene of an investigation "stay in your homes" Monday night.

In a message posted to Twitter, police warned residents and told anyone traveling in the area to "stay away."

No officers or residents were injured.
