SLINGER -- All lanes of I-41 were closed near Highway 60 in Slinger due to "several traffic incidents," Monday morning, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Traffic is being asked to exit at WIS 60, drive east to US 45, then south back to I-41.

The incident is expected to take several hours to clear. As of 1:00 p.m., one northbound lane had been reopened.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the crash involved about 30 vehicles, eight of with where semi trucks.

Another 30 cars ended up in the ditch on the side of the interstate, and did not sustain damage.

Five people were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and traffic on I-41 was shut down for six hours.

Drivers were lucky to live through the mess.

Teresa Hall was o her way to Michigan when she found herself in the pileup.

"It was scary, at first I ended up in the median, I didn't hit anybody then when I saw the other cars and where they were going to go it was very scary," she said.

Josh Fleischman has three young boys, and he said it helped him get through the ordeal.

"[They're] all 10 and under and it was just the first thing I though of was them and how lucky I was to escape that without any major injury," he said.

TODAY'S TMJ4 viewer Kevin Hundley sent us video of the incident about a mile south of the Highway 60 exit, which you can watch above.
