Milwaukee Police Department has a person of interest in custody in connection to the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old Milwaukee girl Monday night.
Police were called to a shooting near 13th and Hopkins around 8 p.m.
Shots were fired into the home, striking Sandra Parks while she was sitting with her family.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a statement by Milwaukee Police, residents in the community came forward with information about the suspect and his whereabouts.
Officers have taken a 26-year-old Milwaukee man into custody, as the investigation and charges are underway.
