One person has died after a structure fire in Sheboygan Monday night. The person was identified as Russell Doxtator III.
Sheboygan Fire Department received reports of a residential building fire in the 400 block of Michigan Avenue just before 10 p.m. Once they arrived on the scene they found heavy fire coming from the second floor of the building.
Firefighters located Doxtator while extinguishing the fire. They treated that Doxtator on the scene, where he was then transported to the hospital where he passed away.
One firefighter also received treatment on the scene for injuries.
Three other occupants were displaced by the fire. The total dollar loss is estimated at $70,000.
The Sheboygan Fire Department would like to remind residents to make sure they have working smoke detectors.
