It shouldn't be hard to give away 1,000 free anything, much less bratwurst. But Milwaukee's Old German Beer Hall came up just a few sausages short of their 1,000 link goal last year.
This year, they want to make sure they meet their goal.
On Friday--Fred Usinger Day--the Old German Beer Hall will be giving away free bratwurst from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It's limited to one brat per person.
At 6 p.m., those in attendance have a chance to get a free beer with special guest, Fritz Usinger, the current president of Usinger's and the fourth generation to run the company.
Fred Usinger Day, established back in 2005, is meant to honor the 125-year tradition of Usinger's sausages in Milwaukee.
Old German Beer Hall is located State and Old World Third, right across from the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
