Off-duty Milwaukee Police Officer Michael Mattioli has been released from police custody after seriously injuring a man in a fight over the weekend.
Mattioli was arrested Sunday after a serious battery incident that left a 25-year-old man unresponsive. He was released on bond Wednesday.
MPD says Mattioli is a 13-year veteran of the department, and has been placed on full suspension.
Mattioli was being held at the Milwaukee County Jail for first degree reckless injury and strangulation and suffocation.
The other man involved in the fight remains in serious condition.
