MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin state boys basketball tournament is the latest event to be affected by the coronavirus.
The University of Wisconsin says general admission tickets won't be available for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament March 19-21 at the Kohl Center.
The games will be played and teams will be allotted a limited number of tickets per their rosters.
The university says the decision to go ahead with the competition without general admission fans was made in consultation with local and state public health officials.
They recommend limiting large gatherings on campuses in light of COVID-19. According to the World Health Organization, people with mild illness recover in about two weeks.
