MILWAUKEE, WI - A new update to the popular Snapchat app is raising a few questions among some people we spoke with at Summerfest.

The app’s latest update includes a location-sharing feature that allows users to easily find friends or even strangers with one click of a button.

"I think it’s cool because then you can see [if] somebody’s going to a party or a festival you can see where it is," Kaylee Waranka said. “But I think that there should be some privacy settings because then people can see where you live, because it shows exactly where you are one the map.”

Snap Map essentially lets you share your location with all your friends or just a few. It also allows you to scroll around a map to see where your friends are located, and you can also see the activity of other users in the area although their identity may be concealed.

"It's kind of sketchy," Nicole Bera said. "I don't need everyone to know [where I am].”

It’s a sentiment shared by other users on the Summerfest grounds Friday as well, but there is a ghost mode feature in the app so that those who don’t want their location shared can easily opt out.

“I think it’s great, I think it’s neat," Sheryl Petro said. "I love technology, but it’s kind of worrisome too. Nowadays it’s kind of scary out there.”
