WEST ALLIS — There is a new outdoor ice rink open to the public thanks to some help from the West Allis Fire Department.
At 10:00 a.m. Saturday firefighters pumped water to fill the 35' by 70' rink near Kegel's Inn.
The rink is adjacent to the German restaurant between National and Greenfield Avenue.
The rink is in the space that houses Kegel's outdoor beer garden in the summer.
"We were looking for a way to continue to use that community space through the winter and the concept of a free public ice rink makes perfect sense," Julian Kegel, owner and operator of Kegel's Inn said.
