The GOP's national chairman says the Republican race is far from over, but he's not worried.
Reince Priebus says Donald Trump’s victory in New Hampshire signals we’re in it for the long haul.
“I don't think this thing will be over any time soon,” Priebus told TODAY’s TMJ4. “It was a good night for Donald Trump. It was a good night for John Kasich. A little bit of traffic jam in the rest of the field that will shake out.”
Priebus is not ready to buy the notion that voters are sending a message to the establishment candidates.
“I don't know what establishment means, no one has been able to define it for me. It’s a term that changes its definition,” Priebus said. “I buy there is a message out there that people are clearly frustrated especially with Washington — not individual states. That's fair.”
Priebus is also closely watching the Democrats closely and the upcoming debate in Milwaukee. Despite Bernie Sanders’ momentum, he remains unimpressed.
I don't think he's that good. I'm not worried about either one of them. I do think its pretty stunning that he is crushing her and the Democrats don't trust Hillary Clinton,” Priebus said.
Priebus points out that four years ago Mitt Romney didn’t wrap up the nomination until after Wisconsin's April primary.
