GRAND CHUTE — The mother of the young man killed at a mall inGrand Chute over the weekend has launched a fundraiser to pay for funeral expenses.
Nineteen-year-old Jovanni J. Frausto was shot and killed in a shooting at the Fox River Mall on Sunday. One other person was injured and a teenage suspect is now on the run, police say. Four others were arrested as well, though it's not yet clear what role they played in the incident.
On Monday, the mother of Frausto, Tanya, began a fundraiser for the child she lost to gun violence. She writes on GoFundMe that she is a single mother of four.
"I need funds to help pay for funeral expenses as I never expected to have to bury my 19-year-old son to gun violence," she writes. "This would cover his viewing and his cremation expenses. Anything would help and be greatly appreciated. This is a difficult time for our family and we ask for your prayers."
