PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - A missing Platteville man was found dead Friday in a hotel room, according to a release sent to TODAY'S TMJ4's sister station WISC-TV.
A relative of 28-year-old Zachary Gevelinger contacted Platteville police on Friday to report him missing, officials said. A staff member at a Platteville hotel also contacted police on Friday after seeing a social media post that Gevelinger was missing. The employee recognized him from renting a room at the hotel.
Officers went to the hotel room and found Gevelinger dead, according to the release.
A cause of death has not been determined, and an investigation continues, officials said. The investigation has shown that there is no threat to public safety.
