Milwaukee's very own Five O'Clock Steakhouse made a recent list of the 31 best steakhouses in the country.

Thrillist's list includes restaurants old and new, but all serve the same piece of perfectly cooked beef. Five O'Clock Steakhouse has been making its famous steaks since 1946.

The secret house marinade makes the steaks here stand out. The author recommends pairing it with a brandy Old Fashioned for the best experience.

Five O'Clock's atmosphere also sets it apart. It combines the traditional elegance of a steakhouse with the comfort of a Midwest supper club.

Other Midwest steakhouses to make the list include Chicago's Maple & Ash, Murray's Steakhouse in Minneapolis and St. Elmo's Steakhouse in Indianapolis.
