LOUISVILLE -- A man wanted for a sexual assault in Milwaukee was arrested Tuesday night near Louisville, Kentucky, according to police.

The suspect's pickup truck was spotted on I-71 approaching Louisville around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. As officers tried to stop him, he got out of his truck and ran into the woods, police say.

Sgt. Timothy Gauerke says the man, who was armed with a knife, was arrested after a "lengthy search" in the woods.

Milwaukee police personnel have traveled to Kentucky to continue the investigation, and say they are working to extradite the suspect back to Wisconsin.

According to police, the victim in the case encountered two suspects near I-794 in Milwaukee and they drove her to Kenosha County, where she was assaulted.

Hours before the sexual assault, Kenosha police responded to a call that two men driving a pickup truck attempted to abduct a woman coming out of a Buffalo Wild Wings off I-94 in Kenosha.
