MILWAUKEE — The turn around for the Milwaukee Rufus King basketball team has been amazing. Last year, they were 12-9 for the season.
This year, the Generals are City Conference Champions after their win over Bay View. The Generals are still perfect for the season at 20-0.
Junior guard Quinton Murrell feels his team plays a different brand of basketball.
"It's very tough to play in the city, it's just a different style of basketball very grit, grime. It's tough to play in the city," said Murrell.
"People should respect it" said junior guard Ricky Bradley Jr. He brings the tough to the Generals team. "I'm cool with everybody really, they know that I've got to get on them sometimes at the end of the day."
"We are all family," said Head Coach Doug Lewis. Lewis helped bring a gold ball to Milwaukee Rufus King back in 1984 as the team's starting guard.
"It feels good to be 19-0, especially where we came from when I first took over the program. To go from 7-14 and 19-0 in our fourth year, it was scripted and it was planned," said Lewis.
