MILWAUKEE — A new study finds Milwaukee is in the top 10 of U.S. cities with the highest sexually transmitted disease rates.

Researchers with Innerbody.com analyzed recent statistics released by the CDC. Overall, Milwaukee is ranked #7 and the only Wisconsin city to make the list.

Milwaukee was ranked #18 the year before, jumping up 11 spots. There were 134 HIV cases, 10,928 Chlamydia cases, 4,706 Gonorrhea cases, and 77 Syphilis cases.

Wisconsin was ranked #34 when it comes to all states ranked by STD rate. There are more than 36,000 STD cases that have been reported.

According to the CDC, over 2.4 million combined STD cases were reported across the U.S. in 2018 alone.
