MILWAUKEE — Two Milwaukee police officers are home recovering after an incident Monday night.
It happened near 25th and Wisconsin just before 6:30 p.m. when an officer was dragged by a car.
Officers say they pulled a car over and spotted controlled substances inside.
The passenger jumped into the front seat and tried to speed away with one of the officers partially inside the car.
The car drove about 70 feet before hitting a tree.
A stolen handgun and the suspected controlled substances were recovered from the car.
Both officers suffered minor injuries during the incident and two people are in custody.
