Milwaukee Police investigating sexual assault near UW-Milwaukee dorms

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred Friday morning on the city's east side -- near two UW-Milwaukee dorms. 

According to a SAFE Alert sent to UW-Milwaukee students from campus police,  the sexual assault occurred in the 2200 Block N. Cambridge Ave. around 10:30 a.m.

According to campus police, the incident occurred inside of a private apartment complex at that location. The suspect entered the apartment complex, approached the victim from behind, and assaulted the victim. The suspect left the location in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a White/Male, 44-49 years old, 6’6” tall, 190 lbs. -- last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark jacket, and a black knit hat.

Campus police say the victim of the sexual assault is not affiliated with UW-Milwaukee and it is believed that the suspect in this case is also not affiliated.
