Milwaukee Police investigate Sobelemans shooting

Four Marquette students suffered minor injuries

The Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at 7:22 p.m. at the Sobelmans located on the 1600 block of West Wells St.

A male in his 20's accidentally discharged a firearm in the vestibule at the front door. Debris caused by the bullet to hit four people who were also in the vestibule.  The four patrons, all Marquette students (3 females and 1 male) suffered very minor injuries that did not require medical attention. The shooter fled the area after discharging his weapon, it is not known at this time if he injured himself, according to Milwaukee Police.

Marquette University Public Safety issued a statement Wednesday evening that there is no threat to the campus.

An investigation is underway.
