MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District is reporting they have dumped 368 million gallons of sewage during the first four days of October alone.
The sewage build up comes from the storms that came at the beginning of the month.
The overflows can be attributed to the record rainfall combined with saturating ground and a treatment capacity issue at the South Shore Water Reclamation Facility.
The MMSD also reports that the yearly total of sewage dumping has surpassed 1.2 billion gallons.
