WAUKEGAN, Ill -- An alligator was found swimming in very far from home on Monday afternoon, according to the City of Waukegan's Facebook page.
A four-foot alligator was found swimming in Lake Michigan -- near the Wisconsin/Illinois state line -- and was safely caught by Waukegan Police Animal Control and Larsen Marine Service.
The alligator is being transported to the Wildlife Discovery Center in Lake Forest, Illinois.
