MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police say federal agents were attempting to arrest a man when he fired his gun and hit himself. The man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Milwaukee Police Captain David Salazar said during a press conference that DEA agents attempted to arrest the 23-year-old Milwaukee man in the 3200 block of West Lincoln Avenue around 2:46 p.m. Monday afternoon. The suspect was the target of the DEA's investigation.

That's when the suspect pulled out a gun and fired, hitting himself. The man was later pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, according to Salazar.
