MILWAUKEE — The City of Milwaukee has now counted 165 homicides so far in 2020, a tie for the most homicides in a year in the city.
Milwaukee police responded to a homicide in the 2400 block of West Keefe just after 5 p.m. Thursday. Witnesses tell MPD that they saw the victim standing next to a house, when several gunshots were fired and the victim collapsed.
The 42-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Milwaukee police confirmed to TMJ4 News on Tuesday that the city had experienced 164 homicides so far in 2020. Thursday's homicide raises that total to 165.
That number ties the highest recorded number of homicides in Milwaukee in a year, set in 1991.
