The city of Milwaukee Department of Public Works announced Monday that they would be suspending garbage and recycling collections through Wednesday Jan. 30.

DPW Sanitation employees will be deployed to help clear the snow from residential and city streets. They currently have 300 pieces of equipment to help free up the streets and sidewalks.

Alternate side parking also goes into effect tonight. Motorists now must park on the even numbered side of the street overnight.

There is still no parking on streets with bus routes and on thoroughfares.
