The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works announced its overnight snow removal operation for 48-Hour Parking Exception streets.

The plan kicked in after snowfall amounts topped 4 inches in the city and lasts for Sunday and Monday nights.

All residents that park on a 48-hour exception street must move their vehicles to the odd numbered side of the street by 11 p.m. Sunday. Residents must then move their vehicles again to the even numbered side of the street by 11 p.m. Monday.

The temporary rules are designed to give DPW crews access to as much of the street pavement as possible to remove the ice and snow.

Residents are encouraged to read posted street signs in all areas of city before your park.

Not all rules are posted, so residents should check here, or call (414) 286-CITY (-2489) for a list of parking restrictions.

Failure to move a vehicle overnight could result in a $20 citation or a tow.
