MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says on Monday, a reckless driver hit a crossing guard on the grounds of a local hospital.

The reckless driver, an unidentified female, reportedly ignored the crossing guard's signal to stop and bumped into her twice with her vehicle. The crossing guard did not sustain any serious injuries.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) says the driver not only put the crossing guard's life in danger, but the lives of the pedestrians in the crosswalk as well.

MCSO would like to remind drivers that state law requires motorists to stop, if directed by a crossing guard.

This is an ongoing investigation, and if you have any information about this incident MCSO asks that you contact MCSO Dispatch at (414) 278-4788.
