Ever wanted to be a zookeeper?

The Milwaukee County Zoo staff is inviting you to take a sneak peek at what they do.

The zoo announced Wednesday it will host a “Behind the Scenes” program this year, aimed at giving guests a first hand look at how the people keep the animals happy and healthy, and the zoo up and running.

On March 11 and 12, the zoo will grant access to areas not normally open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Zoo visitors can take one of several behind the scenes tours, including the “Sensory Safari,” which allows guests to touch and interact with the animals.

Or try the giraffes tour, which allows visitors to check out the medical stalls used to trim giraffe hoofs and weigh the gentle giants.

Tours are included in the price of admission. For adults the price is $11.75, for seniors it’s $10.25 and for kids 3-12 it’s $8.75. Parking is $12.
