Milwaukee County Sheriff Richard Schmidt launched the first phase of MCSO Mobile, an app for the public to receive updates and get in contact with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.
The app has access to MCSO outreach services including the directory, inmate locator, MCSO website, Facebook, Twitter and news releases.
Users will also be able to pay parking and traffic citations directly from their phones.
The first phase of the application is available for Apple products in the Apple App Store. It will soon be available for Android users in the Google Play Marketplace.
In the upcoming advancements, users will receive real-time notifications of Amber Alerts, Crime Alerts and Weather/Traffic Alerts. Users will also have the ability to provide anonymous crime tips through two-way communication with deputies in which they will be able to share their location and send photos.
MSCO Mobile has been in development for four years.
