OAK CREEK — A memorial service will take place Tuesday for a U.S. Marine from Oak Creek who died in a training exercise.

On July 30, Private first class Evan A. Bath, 19, was on board an amphibious vehicle in California when it took on water and sank to the bottom of the ocean.

After a 40-hour search for some of the men in the vehicle, eight of them, including Bath, have been presumed dead.

Now, Bath's family is hosting a memorial service in honor of the marine.

The service is scheduled to take place Tuesday at Parkway Apostolic Church in Oak Creek. The condolence line will be open from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., with interment to follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place, and face masks will be required for all who attend.
