Three suspects are in custody in the murder of a Milwaukee City employee. Greg “Ziggy” Zyszkiewicz, a Neighborhood Services employee, was gunned down Wednesday while in his car and on the job near 24th and Cherry.
Thursday afternoon Mayor Tom Barrett addressed the shooting at a news conference. Barrett says he has met with the family as well Zyskiewicz’s coworkers.
"He was the best dad ever," said Morgan Zyszkiewicz, Greg's daughter. "He did everything for everyone. He would drop what he's doing to help. He didn't deserve this at all, he was just doing his job."
Grief counselors were also on-site to talk with employees. Barrett says the safety of city employees is important and procedures are being reviewed.
A fund to help the family has been set up and you can contribute at any U.S. Bank.
