MILWAUKEE — The Associated Press has named Marquette's own Markus Howard as a first-team All American for the 2019-2020 season.
With the NCAA canceling the March Madness Tournament, many college athlete's seasons were cut short. That includes Marquette senior Markus Howard's final college basketball season.
During his final year at Marquette, Howard was supposed to lead Marquette to the NCAA March Madness tournament. That tournament, however, never happened due to the coronavirus outbreak.
This season cut short, though, hasn't stopped Howard from getting well-deserved recognition.
According to WTMJ, he has been named a first-team All American by the Associated Press. This accolade comes after Howard lead the NCAA Division 1 in scoring.
Howard is the first Marquette player since Dwyane Wade to receive this honor.
