Many people had the day off because of Martin Luther King Day, but you probably didn't see anyone out sledding or going for a walk.

TODAY'S TMJ4 found some people at Pettit National Ice Center and Discovery World taking shelter from the cold.

"I don't want to be outside, it's freezing," Madison Miller said.

It was the theme of the day for kids and adults, alike.

"It's cold outside, there's not a lot to do out there," Tim Zielinski said. "We came in here try to stay warm."

The Morgan family found that at Discovery World, where they enjoyed a warm and fun spot to play.

"It's too cold to be outside, so we tried to find something that would still get [the kids] out of the house and away from video games," Jerry Morgan said.

There they learned about flight, machines and maybe that ice is made at 32 degrees.

"Earlier today we saw a family who told us their furnace broke," said Paul Fladten with Discovery World. "So what a perfect spot, they were members, they were able to come down here."
