MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are searching for a gunman who opened fire and killed a man in the middle of the street on Milwaukee’s northwest side.

The shooting happened just before 9:00 a.m. in a neighborhood near 76th and Villard.

“I looked out my window and saw a man lying in the street,” homeowner Domingo Rivera said. “I put on some shoes and went to take a look and he was laying there in a puddle of blood. There were two guns also laying in the street.”

As Rivera went outside to check on the victim, he noticed a man running toward a getaway car.

“I saw what looked to be a silver minivan parked up the street here,” Rivera said. “All of a sudden that van took off.”

Through witness accounts, Milwaukee police have a generic suspect and vehicle description.

“What we're looking for at this point is a tall, heavy set black male who was wearing dark clothing and described as either driving a tan or gold colored minivan,” Captain Aaron Raap with the Milwaukee Police Department said.

The vague description is all police have to go on for now. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Milwaukee Police Department.
