MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal shooting Saturday as the victim's family waits for answers.

It happened at about 1:30 p.m. near Sherman Boulevard and Bernhard Place.

Police say an individual in a vehicle shot a 34-year-old man in another car. The victim, identified as Tony Vance, drove a short distance before hitting a pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's uncle, Anthony Vance, is grieving the loss of his namesake nephew.

"My favorite nephew, and when I say my favorite nephew, he would have given me the shoes off his feet if I needed them," Vance said.

"Right now I'm just discombobulated right now. Broad daylight my nephew just shot up.

The victim's family is asking witnesses to come forward and help police with the investigation.

"What it's telling me, what it's telling the community is people just going to be scared to come out of their house now," Vance said.

A vigil has been scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
